Our vast province has so many unique stories to tell, even we at Invest in Ontario can't cover them all alone. That's why it's great to have so many strong regional economic development partners who do a stellar job at profiling their local leading edge companies.

Today we'd like to feature a story created by Waterloo EDC. It's no secret that as part of the Toronto-Waterloo corridor, this region is teeming with tech giants and start-ups at the forefront of transformative technologies such as artificial intelligence, self-driving cars and quantum science.

Recently Waterloo EDC published a success story on ISARA Corporation – a company located in Waterloo that develops quantum-safe security solutions. The story is a wonderful expose of a growing technology company, but it also clearly portrays the unique advantages of operating a tech business in Waterloo.

In their discussion with Scott Totzke, Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder of ISARA, he admits that "he could have been a "brain drain" Canadian statistic – that is, leaving Canada to build his business in Silicon Valley. However, he is glad the reverse happened."

He states, "We already had talent here, available capital, an industry that had been working on quantum computing very publicly for almost two decades."

We highly recommend you read the full story on ISARA. Waterloo EDC did an incredible job of putting it together and we are happy to promote this amazing Ontario company.

If you are an Ontario innovator and have a story to tell or if you are an Ontario municipal EDC/EDO send us a note at info@InvestOntario.ca with "I want to be featured" in the subject line.
