Billennium’s Mississauga office

Ontario’s Investment Services Team works with Polish IT services company

For any business, setting up in a new overseas market is an intricate undertaking, a carefully choreographed process with many players contributing to a successful project delivery. It’s a challenge that inspires Ontario’s Investment Services Team as they draw upon their experience and connections to help businesses feel right at home through any stage of their growth journey – whether it’s a company establishing a brand new Ontario presence, or an existing business seeking to expand.

The team was delighted to be part of a broad-based government group working with Billennium as the Polish IT services and solutions company steered towards the Aug. 1st official launch of its Canadian headquarters in Mississauga.

Billennium had been servicing the Canadian market remotely from its offices in Poland and India. With a growing client base from Ontario’s vibrant industrial and technology clusters, the province was a natural focus for the next phase of the company’s international growth plans. The new Mississauga-based team includes expertise in artificial intelligence, machine learning and computerized systems validation.

Billennium worked in close collaboration with the Polish Investment and Trade Agency Canadian office in Toronto, City of Mississauga, Toronto Global and the Ontario and Canadian governments. Ontario’s Investment Services Team was able to assist by providing insights and intelligence covering several strategic areas:

  • Market research and cost comparisons – helping Billennium to evaluate the region’s business ecosystem with benchmark analysis including access to talent, real estate and utility costs, regulatory and tax environment, access to capital and quality of life indicators.
  • Guidance on Ontario’s company incorporation processes and financial administration matters.
  • Assistance with overseas transfers of senior executives.

“Being able to develop close working relationships with our partners across government really helped Billennium’s project team successfully implement this exciting new chapter in the growth of our company,” said Peter Chmielowski, General Manager of Billennium Canada. “With our new on-the-ground presence, we’re excited by the opportunities to deepen our collaboration with our clients and play an increasing role in the region’s flourishing technology sector.”

Of course, the work of Ontario’s Investment Services Team continues long after a company’s official launch and the province looks forward to a long-term partnership with Billennium as a valued member of Ontario’s IT sector.
