Cybersecurity giant takes Ottawa tech scene by storm

Ontario is known as a leader in a multitude of sectors; but it’s our tech ecosystem that is really grabbing headlines.

Companies from around the world have taken notice of Ontario’s IT prowess, including everything from AI to fintech to cybersecurity. This includes Silicon Valley heavy-hitter, Gigamon, a worldwide leader in network visibility, analytics, threat detection and response.

The company recently announced plans to expand its international footprint with its fourth tech hub in Ottawa, Ontario. Gigamon will tap into the city’s deep tech expertise to build out a world-class R&D team in the coming months with the goal of an office opening in 2021.

“When reviewing potential expansion opportunities in North America, we considered a number of attractive options. In the end, Ottawa’s diverse workforce and bustling tech community made it the clear choice,” said Shane Buckley, President and Chief Operating Officer at Gigamon.

Ottawa is known for its highly-skilled workforce, with 68,000 tech employees in the nation’s capital alone.
